{"id":256,"date":"2020-04-05T16:24:02","date_gmt":"2020-04-05T16:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lifepointgiles.org\/?p=256"},"modified":"2020-04-05T16:24:02","modified_gmt":"2020-04-05T16:24:02","slug":"palm-sunday-kids-activity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifepointgiles.org\/index.php\/2020\/04\/05\/palm-sunday-kids-activity\/","title":{"rendered":"Palm Sunday Kid&#8217;s Activity"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><b>Palm Leaf Fold and Cut Craft<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contributed by Leanne Guenther<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a fun Palm Sunday craft that works a lot like cutting out paper snowflakes.\u00a0 The fronds end up being large enough that the children can carry them around waving them for a Palm Sunday parade.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Materials:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">printer<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">paper<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">scissors<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">paper clips<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">green construction paper<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">scotch tape<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OPTIONAL:\u00a0 Green pipe cleaner<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Instructions:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print out the template of choice.\u00a0 (the templates have the directions on them)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cut this template along the dotted line.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fold a piece of green construction paper in half and paper clip the template so the dotted line is along the fold.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cut through the template and both layers of construction paper along the black lines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discard the template (unless you want to make more leaves).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfold the construction paper to see your finished palm leaf.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tape a green pipe cleaner as a stem<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roll a second piece of green construction paper into as tight a tube as possible and tape it so it will stay.\u00a0 Tape that to the center as a stem.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Templates:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is the link to print the template. Or you could just free hand the palm.
